The description provided by Gala Games says the following:
“Mirandus is an epic fantasy RPG set in a massive world ruled by five player-monarchs. In-game, players have absolute freedom of choice: they can set out into the wilderness alone to try their fortunes against the monsters of the deep woods and dungeons, join with one of the monarchs to serve as a knight in their court, or set up shop in one of the five great cities of the realm. Player ownership of in-game assets is a central mechanic, with players being able to hold land deeds that allow them to claim parts of the wilderness and set up holdfasts ranging from small farms to massive cities. In Mirandus, you decide who you will be and choose your own quest in the epic fight against evil.”
When you dive a bit deeper, listen to the regular AMA’s (ask me anything) help by the Gala executive team and participate in their well-run discord, you discover just how massive this undertaking truly is.
If you have played many of the MMORPG’s over the years as I have, games like Ultima Online, EverQuest, Lord of the Rings, GuildWars, ElderScrolls and of course the big daddy of them all World of Warcraft… Then you know just how immersive game play can be.
I remember when World of Warcraft the Movie was released. It was perhaps the most surreal movie experience that I’ve ever had. No it was not because of the cinematography of the storyline. It was because I was intimately familiar with the land. It was the first experience of watching a movie set in a place that I knew like my old hometown as a kid, yet it’s a place I have never been to physically.
We are heavily invested in these games and the experiences that they provide. We invest both our time and our effort. For many of us, we have invested real money. But here’s the thing. What do we really have to show for that time and effort? We have memories. We have experiences. We have in-game items that don’t really belong to us.
That is all about to change. Gala Games is on a mission to redefine modern gaming. The recognize how the gaming industry has changed. How it has become dominated by Goliath sized corporations who are all about the money. Gala want’s to give gaming back to the players. They are looking to do this is serveral ways but here are the big three.
This post is incomplete. I’ll write more soon. This will suffice as a placeholder while the rest of the site is finished. The real value of the site at this time is in the NFT asset library for Land Deeds and Buildings.
